The concept artist behind Spider-Man: No Way Home reveals his character designs for Tom Holland wearing the Venom symbiote suit. Since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film continues to outperform worldwide, anticipated to surpass Avengers: Endgame in box office records. With the shattering success of the film, Sony and Marvel Studios agreed to set forth another trilogy starring Holland as the web-slinging hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: No Way Home follows the multiversal adventure of Peter Parker, seeking the assistance Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), to erase the public’s memory of his identity after being exposed by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). When Doctor Strange’s spell goes wrong, however, Peter embarks on a journey to reverse the spell by catching the multiversal villains. At the end of the film, the movie's post-credits scene alluded to the possibility of Holland bonding with the sentient alien in the future, as Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) fortuitously leaves a small chunk of Venom’s symbiote after being transported back into his universe.

In a recent tweet, concept artist Thomas du Crest shared his take on how Holland’s Spider-Man would look after melding with the Venom symbiote. The images show Holland's portrayal of bonding with the alien life form, where the viscous costume appears to be similar to Venom’s veiny appearance, but retains the original shape of the wall-crawler’s lenses. Currently, du Crest is waiting to be approved to share his work on Spider-Man: No Way Home, but in the meantime, shares his vision for the next MCU Spider-Man trilogy. The concept artist has worked on previous MCU films, such as Spider-Man: Far From Home and Avengers: Endgame. See du Crest’s tweet below:

Alongside the first look into the prospects of Holland’s rendition of Spider-Man hosting the symbiotic alien, fans are theorizing about how the concept suit may become adapted on screen. One of the possibilities noted is how the concept art bears a slight resemblance to the design from the animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man. In the series, the black suit was continuously changing, depending on how much the symbiote was corrupting Peter’s mind, leading some to speculate if Holland’s portrayal will follow the same route. Since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, many snippets of behind-the-scenes footage and concepts are slowly being released to the public. Recently, artist Maciej Kuciara shared her concept art for the film, showing an alternate version of the transmission tower fight between Spider-Man and Electro.

Although there is minimal information on the future of the Spider-Man franchise in regards to the direction it will take, Holland’s mantle as Spider-Man is not completely over yet. As both Sony and Marvel Studios confirmed and promised a second trilogy after the astounding success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, many fans can expect to see the web-slinger return again soon. With the concept artist already working on possible ideas for the next project with Holland bonding with the iconic black suit, it may be the next checklist to reignite the next trilogy.
